Dark Night Rises Movie Review

The Dark Knight Rises

Plot
Eight years after Batman disappeared, blamed for murder, Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is a wounded recluse, but Gotham is vibrant — until masked maniac Bane (Tom Hardy) decides it’s high time to bring the city down. Facing this new threat and mysterious cat burglar Selina Kyle (Anne Hathaway), Wayne decides the Dark Knight must rise, once again.

As The Dark Knight Rises, so has anticipation. In 2005, when Christopher Nolan rebooted and resuited Batman, the cinematic reputation of the Caped Crusader was at a pitiful low after the gaudy debacle of The Film That Shall Not Be Named. Now, a short seven years later, Nolan could deliver the print of his trilogy topper in a chariot drawn by flame-breathing unicorns with diamond eyes and some people would still shrug and say, “Meh. It’s not as impressive as The Dark Knight.” In this — as within Rises itself — he could be said to be the victim of his own success. He raised the bar so high, no-one could be expected to clear it. Still, whether you believe this betters Begins or eclipses Knight, it is certainly a satisfying conclusion to what is now — we’re calling it — the best superhero series of all time.

COCKTAIL IS ROCKING BOLLYWOOD

Cocktail: Movie Review

Director: Homi Adajania
Cast: Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, Diana Penty

Cocktail follows the basic Bollywood genre-geometry of a love triangle. The good part about this one, unlike most love triangles, is that the three protagonists get to know who loves whom pretty early in the picture and the revelation isn't stretched till the climax. However, beyond a point, the film isn't able to use this element to its merit and falls for the regular range of spite-to-sacrifice sentiments of any triangular love story. Cocktail, basically, is the same prose with new grammar.

BILLA 2 Movie Review

Billa 2: Movie Review

A sequel but a prequel. Billa 2, directed by Chakri Toleti (of Unnaipol Oruvan-fame) traces the journey of David Billa and his transformation into a dreaded gangster. It is more style over substance attempting to camouflage cliches.

Billa 2 has a wafer-thin storyline. But Chakri Toleti has intentionally kept the pace swift enough, leaving no time for the viewer to notice loose ends.

Ajith plays a bravado who is forced to turn a warlord. Being an action flick all through, the director seems to have taken some cinematic liberties and ensured that gun-toting men run around with vigour, baying for blood, spraying bullets all around. It is bad versus bad in a bid to assert their supremacy.

RENAULT launched it's First SUV DUSTER in INDIA

Renault Duster Launched

Priced between Rs 7.19 lakh and Rs 11.29 lakh, the launch of the Duster represents an important landmark not just for Renault's otherwise limping sales conundrum in India, but also a very discoloured entry level SUV space at large
Renault Duster launch

Just a few days prior to the official launch of the Renault Duster, inquiries starting pouring in about how competitively this adventurous looking French soft roader would be priced, and as common a query as this may be for vehicles on the brink of arrival here in India, such unflinching curiosity behind a crossover developed by a Romanian subsidiary of a French car maker on a Japanese automobile platform was indeed surprising. And then it suddenly hit me.

It’s not just the vehicle, but the segment it looks to crowd that is raising many questions, and rightfully so. For too long have the Mahindra Scorpios and the Tata Safaris ruled the roost and it was only time before the India’s entry level SUV space germinated some foreign interest. Well it did, and along came a Duster!

Priced between Rs 7.19 lakh and Rs 11.29 lakh (for variant-wise pricing scroll right to the bottom of the page), the Renault badged Dacia Duster as it called internationally has been launched as a 4x2 model, and according to the French car maker there are no immediate plans of launching a 4x4 spec model in India.
